Typical Discovery and Defender Chassis Corrosion

Kingsley undertakes Discovery and Defender full and 1⁄3 chassis repairs and replacements by Marsland chassis.

We check to see how far the corrosion has gone and can often replace just the rear 1⁄3 section. When replacing the rear 1⁄3 section we strip the ​‘transit paint’ back to bare metal, paint fully in our paint shop the bare metalled chassis in Rustbusters award-winning EpoxyMastic 121, seam weld and puddle weld the new 1⁄3 chassis into place and dress back all of the welds before repainting the welded joins to give protection.

Prior to completion, we inject wax into all of the internal cavities of both the new repair section and the original part of the chassis to slow corrosion.

Defender and Discovery Chassis Replacement

Defender chassis changes usually take 10 days and usually cost approximately £7,500 plus VAT plus any additional items which are corroded and need replacement or that you choose to add.
